Information on photography, bag policy, and general conduct to ensure a pleasant visit for everyone.
To ensure the safety of visitors and the preservation of the historic site, the Palais Garnier has several rules in place. Please familiarize yourself with these guidelines before your visit. For related information, see our accessibility page.
Key Visitor Rules
Please observe the following during your visit
Bag Policy
Due to the Vigipirate security plan, large bags, backpacks, and suitcases are not permitted inside. Only small bags that can fit under a seat are allowed. There are no cloakroom facilities for visitors during the day.
Photography
Photography for personal use is allowed, but flash, tripods, and selfie sticks are forbidden. Filming or photographing staff is not permitted.
Prohibited Items
Items such as glass bottles, large plastic bottles (over 50cl), and personal mobility devices are not allowed inside the building.
Conduct
Please speak in a low voice and refrain from running or sitting on stairs and ledges. Food and drink must be kept in a closed bag.
