Please observe the following during your visit

Bag Policy

Due to the Vigipirate security plan, large bags, backpacks, and suitcases are not permitted inside. Only small bags that can fit under a seat are allowed. There are no cloakroom facilities for visitors during the day.

Photography

Photography for personal use is allowed, but flash, tripods, and selfie sticks are forbidden. Filming or photographing staff is not permitted.

Prohibited Items

Items such as glass bottles, large plastic bottles (over 50cl), and personal mobility devices are not allowed inside the building.

Conduct

Please speak in a low voice and refrain from running or sitting on stairs and ledges. Food and drink must be kept in a closed bag.

Can I bring a backpack?
No, backpacks and other large bags are generally not allowed inside the Palais Garnier for security reasons. Only small handbags are permitted.
Is there a place to store my luggage?
There are no luggage storage facilities or cloakrooms available for daytime visitors. You will need to use an external luggage storage service in Paris.
Are tripods allowed for photography?
No, tripods and selfie sticks are prohibited to ensure the safety and comfort of all visitors and to protect the historic interiors.
Can I bring food or drink inside?
Food and drink are not allowed in the public visiting areas. Any food or beverages must be kept inside a closed bag.
